Chevrolet Spin Spotted in China

Chevrolet may have a new compact low cost MPV up its sleeve for the Chinese market if these spy shots of the Chevrolet Spin are anything to go by. The Spin is a Brazilian produced car for the South American market motor and is aimed at the lower end of the market, does that sort of market fit in with China’s current Chevrolet line up at all?

The Spin features 7 seats with 1.5L and 1.8L engines with automatic and manual gearboxes, if it did come to the PRC we suspect it would make good competition for the seemingly unstoppable Nissan Livina range but at the same time as far as we know there are no plans for the economy Spin or the higher up Orlando for production in the Chinese market as of yet.

Or is this simply a car brought to China for GM employees to learn from? Future production plans for Chevrolet China include the Volt and the Equinox, but there is no rumor of a Spin or the Orlando as of yet. Will the Chinese market receive the Spin via the Indonesian market, and will the Orlando come via Korea? Wait and see.

The first four photos are of the Chevrolet Spin, but the final photo is of a Chevrolet Orlando, also mentioned in your text.
