Dongfeng’s X-Terra Based Aoting Get’s Minor Update

The first generation X-Terra has been on the market for a decade under the Paladin name, the second generation never made it to China but Nissan passed it onto joint venture partner Zhengzhou Dongfeng who make commercial vehicles on behalf Nissan, where the Paladin became the AoTing.

Under the AoTing name plate the X-terra picked up a few sales from fleet operators such as government agencies and companies operating in remote areas. The second generation X-Terra has long been rumored to be produced in China along with the Nissan Patrol, but nothing has come to the production lines yet.  2.4L Mitsubishi sourced gasoline and 2.5L turbo diesel engines have been brought to the Aoting along with RWD and AWD platforms. The above facelift Aoting has a new front grill for 2013, but other changes seem to be relatively slim.

The real question is: When can we have some cool trucks in China and note late 90′s offerings?
