Ford’s Focus ST Hits the Chinese Market at 259,800RMB

China’s hot hatch market has another competitor in town with the introduction of Ford’s high octane ST. The ST produces 250bhp which is sent through the front wheels which will send the car from 0-100kph in just 6.2 seconds, and the 360Nm of torque is likely to give new cars owners the fun option of having to buy new front tires on a regular basis.

The ST is imported into China which makes its 259,800RMB starting price quite affordable, for that price you can get the ST in blue, pure white, and black, if you want the signature yellow you will have to pay 265,800RMB. The downside is that the ST comes with a manual only gearbox so for those that don’t like to row your own you are SOL for the time being.

I cannot understand why Ford don’t offer their excellent Powershift auto’ transmission with this amazing car, they must lose out big time to the like of VW/Audi with their DSG transmissions

I’m sure the Powershift will come later, they are targeting enthusiasts with the initial sales
