MG CS SUV To Receive 2.0T Engine

Share Our Knowledge With Your Friends, Contacts And Co-Workers

The MG CS SUV concept may have headlined at teh Shanghai Auto Show last week but this week we can share the cars specification with MG’s legions of fans. The first SUV to come from MG is to be powered by a 2.0T engine capable of producing 150kW of power and having 280Nm of torque on tap, taking it from zero to 100km/h in just 7.8 seconds, top speed will be 220km/h.

Older MG’s came with air suspension under the name of Hydragas, the new CS will also come with air suspension – either the MG is giving a nod to history or it will have telescopic suspension for offroad use. Hopefully both. All Four corners of the CS SUV will use independent suspension rather than the body roll inducing rear torsion bar that is offered on the MG5.

Production is expected to begin in late 2013 with the market launch happening in 2014 at the earliest.

    Hydragas does not use air!

Most recently used on the MG F, hydragas uses nitrogen gas as the springing medium and hydraulic fluid pressure drop as the damping mechanism

    Simple, but brilliantly effective
