Maxus G10 MPV Is Road Testing Ahead Of Launch

Share Our Knowledge With Your Friends, Contacts And Co-Workers

The Maxus G10 Concept appeared at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year to give the Maxus brand something that will become a business orientated MPV ready for China and international markets. The G10 doesn’t appear to have anything in its external DNA that ties it back to the LDV brand from which the Maxus brand was born, SAIC took the bankrupt LDV under its wing several years ago and added it to its reborn British Leyland empire that it is establishing in Shanghai.

Power trains haven’t yet been mentioned, but we suspect something in both gasoline and diesel variation. Note the automatic transmission too, a first for the Maxus brand in China.

Update: We have a few sources telling us that this is based upon the Buick GL8 platform that SAIC makes in cooperation with GM. If so, we can expect a 2.4L and a 3.0L V6 engine in the new model.
