The Chinese luxury market is about to gain a new player, the much awaited Cadillac ATS. GM announced earlier today via a press release that the new compact rear wheel drive sedan will be available in China in the fourth quarter of this year.
However, Chinese automotive media went further to say that the ATS will first be imported and then produced in China in 2015, they also discovered that the ATS will be priced at a very tempting 300,000RMB for the imported model which is on par with the Audi A4L 1.8T/2.0T models but considerably cheaper than the BMW 3-Series LI which comes in at 370,000RMB for the 2.0T.
Chinese media are also guessing the engine options, a 2.0T and a 3.6L naturally aspirated six cylinder. The 2.0T is the same engine as the current XTS which is good for 269bhp, whilst the 3.6L can crank out 309bhp in the XTS.
