Share Our Knowledge With Your Friends, Contacts And Co-Workers

BYD’s Deputy Sales Manager Li Yun Fei revealed that BYD will continue to work on its dual hybrid systems throughout 2014 and will introduce a new sports car in 2015.

The sports car has already been codenamed the E9 internally with work well underway, the new car will have a Ferrari comparable time of 3.9 seconds on the 0-100km/h run. The new model is expected to air in 2015.

BYD’s current Qin sedan uses a 1.5T mated with BYD’ electric system to reach 0-100km/h in just 5.9 seconds, a 2.0T will be introduced into an SUV model paired with the same iron battery system to see a time of 4.9 seconds. How BYD plans to push it further to 3.9 seconds is a mystery, perhaps an improved 2.0T or a larger displacement is on its way.

    Oh, what petrolhead thinking!

Of course they are going to use a high torque motor and upgraded electronics paired to a high power battery capable of delivering the needed C rate. Duh.

The future is here, but you’re not seeing it ;)
