Dongfeng’s next self developed car will be Nissan Tiida based

Nissan have been very generous to their joint venture partner, Dongfeng, as they have granted them the use of the popular Nissan Tiida platform on which to build their next self developed model.

Dongfeng Nissan hoping to sell 6000 Nissan March’s per month

Dongfeng Nissan clearly have some high hopes for the Nissan March which will launch in China in August this year, Dongfeng-Nissan have already aimed at sales of 6000 units per month for the 1.5 March.

Nissan Micra comes to China, becomes the March

The sixth generation of the Nissan Micra arrived in China this week, except it will be carrying the Nissan March name which it shares with the Japanese market model. The sixth generation March is quite away from early generations in terms of styling, but still remains fairly unique amongst other Japanese and European mini cars.
For the Chinese market the Micra is being given a 1.5 engine, and is expected to be priced between 70,000rmb and 100,000rmb, although no exact prices have been announced.

Nissan Leaf turns up in China, gets Chinese name too

The Nissan Leaf turned up at the Beijing Auto Show this week and brought with it a Chinese name of 聆风 (Ling Feng) and a taste of the future.

2010 Nissan Livina revealed

The Nissan Livina has been a major seller for Dongfeng-Nissan over the past three years, they have since launched a crossover version which has proven to be a good seller, but now they have also added a face lift version which will no doubt spur sales on into 2010/11.

Next generation of Nissan Micra spotted in China!

The Dongfeng Nissan JV is getting quite a bit of a boost in the next coming months, its line up already consists of two SUVs (Qashqai and X-Trail) Compact hatches and sedans (Livina, Tiida, and Bluebird Sylphy) as well as larger sedans such as the Nissan Teana. Dongfeng-Nissan are planning to recall over 50,000 Qashqai and X-Trail models that were produced in China. The recall was announced via China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine website yesterday, Dongfeng are recalling 14,168 X-Trails that were produced between March 31 2008 and to August 26 2009 and a further 33,667 Qashqai vehicles that were produced between February 18, 2008 and May 22, 2009.

Nissan Micra/March to launch next year – maybe

Rumours of the Nissan Micra/March going into production in China have been on going for some years, with it being reported on China Car Times several times to date. Chinese automotive outlets are reporting that the Nissan Micra will be launched in the middle of 2010 and will be priced at a competitive 70,000rmb.

Dongfeng Nissan have been on a roll for the past few years and have introduced a great range of cars that have given them a broad range of vehicles. Now Dongfeng Nissan are planning to plug the holes in their already expansive line up with a few more cars.

The Nissan NV200 is being billed as a mixture of van, commercial vehicle and a car, it still looks like a van though.

Dongfeng and Nissan are working on a C segment platform that is to be finished by 2010, with Nissan’s R&D departments in the UK and Japan both aiding the operation, this will be the first time that Dongfeng Nissan’s own R&D center has taken the lead in designing a platform, according to media reports.

Previously, the Nissan X-trail was an imported model, however that did noth hamper sales. The X-trail became a very popular SUV since it was introduced into China in 2003. Nissan and Dongfeng have now teamed upto introduce the 2nd generation X-trail into China as a domestically made vehicle.

Dongfeng Nissan have a capacity of only 30,000 Qashqais per year, but it seems that they will soon sell out of cars in 2008. Currently various areas in China are running out of certain colors, in some areas of China Qashqai buyers may have to wait from 10 to 30 days to pick up their Qashqais.
