The Ling Yue is expected to go on the market in September 2008, although pricing is currently unannounced, China Car Times can guess it will be in the 80,000rmb region, making it in a perfect position to target the exteremly popular Brilliance BS.

Engine wise, the SouEast will be borrowing technology from its famous partner, Mitsubishi, in the form of a 1.5l MIVEC engine (4G15S)

Dodge are aiming to get the Chinese made Caravan ready for Q4 sales in 2007. Dodge have teamed up with SouEast motors to get the domestically made Caravan out on to the roads to rival the Buick GL8’s long standing dominance over the luxury business MPV sector.

The older generation caravans have been available in China for some time but this is the first time it has been made here, pricing is expected to be much lower than the imported version.

SouEast is taking over production of Dodge vehicles in China and aims to have 60 Dodge dealers set up by the end of year.  Now that Dodge is hear in China, Chrysler can rest happy knowing that it might actually make a decent profit now 3 of its big brands are here.

Dodge teaming up with SouEast Motors

Dodge is teaming up with SouEast Motors (no typo on that name) to bring the Dodge Caliber, and the Dodge Caravan to China. SouEast will also be producing several Dodge models for Dodges China line up, although it is unclear which. Dodge hope to have 60 or more dealers in China by the end of the year. The Chinese appetite for the American automobile is not likely to be quenched anytime soon - GM are making more money in China than they are in their home country. The Chery-Dodge probably wont be affected, several Japanese/Western marks have joint ventures with two or more Chinese partners.

SouEast going Middle East

SouEast Motors, one of the more peculiar Chinese auto company names in the business is planning to export 8000 SouEast Delica mini buses to Iran. It is understood that Iran plans to update its aging fleet of 15,000 taxis in 2007 although it is not understood if the SouEast Delica mini-buses will be used as taxis or not.
