Geely GC5RV spotted out testing

We’ll be the first to admit that Geelys latest line of hatchbacks are vastly improved on the hatchbacks that Geely was pumping out en masse just a few years ago, the Geely King Kong hatchback was the first, now the GC5RV is set to be the second:
On the power front, the GC5RV will be given a 4G15 engine, which is a 1.5L producing 83kw 112bhp and 138Nm of torque. Both 5 speed manuals and a CVT gearbox.

The Buick Execlle hatch is set to launch in China this month on the 23rd according to various websites.
The 23rd January will see the launch of the full range of the 1.6L, 1.8L and the flagship 1.6T unit, pricing is being estimated by the Chinese media as being from 126,000rmb to 176,000rmb with the 1.6T unit being at the higher end of that price range.

Peugeot Citroen were stumbling a few years ago with a stale line up of cars that was far from popular, however, recent car launches in China such as the updated Peugeot 207 and the Citroen C4 hatch and new sedan have improved their fortunes in the PRC. PSA are hoping to capitalize on these gains and introduce new vehicles via a new Chinese factory.

FAW-VW to take on Seat in China

Previously VW announced that they were going to introduce Seat into Southern China as a cool new urban brand in an area where they have a low take up of vehicles compared to the North of China where all VAG products are widely sold.
Information is still thin on the ground, but it is expected that FAW-VW are going to build a new factory in Guangzhou, which will produce around 200,000 vehicles per year, which would make it VAG’s fifth China plant after Shanghai, Nanjing, Changchun, and Chengdu plants.
